Our Group's UKAS Accredited Laboratory provides unrivalled metallurgical support for our customers.
As a division of Smiths Metal Centres Ltd, we have access to our UKAS accredited materials testing laboratory based in Biggleswade, which forms part of Smiths Technical Services. The facility is unique to UK stockholding.
Overview:
- A dedicated testing laboratory operated by Smiths Technical Service providing Group access
- Offers a range of material testing which is UKAS approved
- Gives comprehensive metallurgical support to customers
- Moving to a new, state-of-the-art facility in Biggleswade (2023)
Testing Programmes:
The facility undertakes single-event testing and ongoing sampling programmes tailored to fit customer requirements.
The facility also provides testing routines for particular customer applications enabling us to offer support for materials with unique certification requirements.
To our knowledge, our Group is the only business in the UK stockholding sector which operates a laboratory of this type.
The team of metallurgists understand the industries and markets that our customers serve. They use this knowledge to significant effect by offering solutions which otherwise be unavailable. The only alternative would be to converse with a third party.
